The MA14-B is 15-Inch long by 3-Inch deep by 4.5-Inch high, and the base is 3-Inch wide by 15-Inch long. The shade easily swivels to direct the light where it is needed. This high quality lamp was the perfect solution to my problem. I have a 44" x 35" print, mounted in a room with little natural light. The glare it reflected from the adjacent rooms made it impossible to see the print. Placing this lamp beneath the print eliminated the glare and brought out the detail of the print. The brass finish makes it an excellent accent to the room. I am so impressed, I immediately ordered one as pending Christmas present for my daughter. (Don't tell her)

NukAlert: Radiation Detector/Monitor Review

I took it with me to a recent visit to the dentist, as the manual says this is how you should test it. I wore it around my neck while the assistant took xrays & nothing happened. This is actually a good thing because it demonstrates how good the xray machine is. So the assistant then placed the NukAlert on the table & shot it with xrays for less than 1 second. It immediately chirped in intervals of 9, but the chirps were so soft that it was barely perceivable. Funny thing is that the sound carries far, but I am doubtful it will be audible in noisy situations such as in windy locations, etc. unless I place it right up to my ear. Inclusion of an LED indicator would help even though it might reduce battery life.

The number of chirps gradually decreased until stopping after more than 1 hour. Since the xray dose was momentary I had expected it to stop much sooner. In a real radiation situation I think its constant chirping could give a false impression that you're still surrounded by radiation even if you might have vacated the source area.

Another problem is that it measures radiation in Roentgen units, which I later learned is a legacy unit of energy. The problem with this is that because most reports of radiation I hear or read about is in Sieverts, I'm now learning that I must convert from Roentgen to Rad, which is the dose equivalent, then from Rad to Gray, which is the SI equivalent, then from Gray to Sieverts. What further complicates this is that because some of these scales are affected by dry air versus soft tissue, there is no standard method of conversion. Basically I want to know what n mSv = n R, and that x number of chirps = n mSv so that I understand what's going on in my environment & share information that is meaningful to others.

When comparing this to the K8, I chose NukAlert because it reports detection of DANGEROUS LEVELS of radiation whereas the K8 detects only very low levels. The table on the back of the device helps determine what the exact situation is.

This was not the high quality product I expected--my contractor just installed two of them in my guest bathroom remodel. Feels cheap with little heft. Bends/gives/wobbles to the touch. Finish feels and looks third rate. The sink stopper handle is little more than heavy gauge wire bent to an "L" shape--it has zero design consistency with the rest of the faucet. Quite frankly, I thought that the stopper handles hadn't shipped with the rest of the package and that the contractor had installed these as a interim measure until the real ones arrived.

Simply put, this faucet is little more than junk. I'd give it one star except for the fact that it functions properly.

I am very happy with these lights and the light they provide under our kitchen cabinets and I would recommend them without hesitation.

I installed a total of 17 lights in our kitchen. (I bought this pack and then additional sets of lights, a power supply, and dimmer from them directly.) I have two circuits of lights each running off a dimmer tied to switches on the wall.

Pros:
- low profile lights so they are hidden as well as possible under your cabinets
- it seems like a good price for what you get compared to several other options I researched
- the light output is great, and I like being able to adjust this using the 4 position dimmer

Cons:
- None

Note: You can splice their cables and buy a spool of cable from a local home improvement store to make cables in any length you want. This was especially handy when running cable behind walls and from one set of cabinets to another.
