I purchased this as a replacement for my Kwikset entry. I am very impressed with how heavy duty and solid it is compared to the not so old Kwikset. The expensive Kwikset finish came off and the internal lock mechanism broke apart twice. It's hard to imagine this Baldwin would have the same problem on either the finish or the internal mechanism. The weight and thickness of the metal is far beyond any regular handsets I've seen at Home Depot including my old Kwikset from Home Depot.

One of the reviews said the allen key set screw that secures the inside handle is made of low strength pot metal. Not the case with mine. They must have addressed that problem in the past. The set screw is steel. It's also a very cleverly designed set screw so that it can't be lost or dropped.

Last but not least, the Smartkey feature is pure genius. I re-keyed the lock to match my existing keys in 10 seconds flat. That alone was a huge time saver.
