I own two of these and one is down now needing repair. The other one was already repaired last summer. Both have had the same problem. This model has a slotted drive belt rather than direct drive. In each case the drive belt has worn out long before I feel like it should have. I use these for trimming wood edgebanding tape on curved panels. They run for about 45 seconds to a minute at a time and then get a rest for 10 or so minutes before being used again. It is rare when both are being used at one time. And most times they are used heavily for a week or so then placed on the shelf again for a month or more before being used again.
