Tool is great. Powerful, precise. A bit heavy (maybe that's a good thing to you, don't know, but worth noting).Only decisive con, a minor one, is that the blades are hard for me to get in straight. A bit of finesse and I'm good to go though.

As for the batteries.... come on people, it's not rocket science. I'll break it down for you.
Don't buy an M18 tool if you expect it to take your V18, nicad, dewalt, AA, AAA, your digital camera battery, or other batteries. It won't. Milwaukee is very clear about this. After you decide to buy the M18 tool anyway because you still expect it to take non-M18 batteries, don't give it two stars because that plan didn't work out. M18 tools take M18 batteries. Get over it.
If that was too much to digest, don't even bother trying to read the next bit...
The XC M18 batteries work with all the tools. The COMPACT M18 batteries only work with the less powerful tools. That means your more powerful saws need the XC batteries. Milwaukee is clear about this.
So buy the M18 tools and the M18 XC batteries if you want all batteries to work with all tools. If you have an m18 tool that is less powerful and you want a lightweight option, get a compact battery for it, but don't expect it to power your jigsaw.
