We ordered this fan with light in the brushed aluminum finish for our bedroom. While it is definitely a "presence" in the room, it is sleek and quiet. One warning: our very competent electrician installed the fan quickly and easily but struggled with the "programming" of the fan to the remote control. While a wall switch is used to turn the fan on and off, all the adjustments (speed, light on/off/dimmer, and direction)are controlled by the remote control and, to quote the set up instructions "there are 32 different possible settings for this fan" which are established by setting the switches in the fan and the remote, which is apparently somewhat complicated b/c when the electrician finally got everything to match up and work he reported that "it's working but I can't tell you how I did it." So, don't lose the instructions and whatever you do don't lose the remote! It's only been up and running for about a month, but it seems to work very well, and no need to get out of bed to turn off the light or adjust the fan.
