I teach health classes and I have a few dollars of cash that I had been keeping in an office drawer. To make sure some patient might not "happen" to open one of my desk drawers while I was out of the office, I went searching for a well made little safe or lock box to keep the cash more secured from curious patients or their children. A handgun safe seemed like a good way to go, but many years ago I had a one made by Gun Vault, and although it was well made, the batteries kept going dead and I'd have to dig out my emergency key to open it and replace them and that was a pain. This one has no power source to go bad and uses what looks like a Simplex push button lock. In any event, it installed real easily under my desk near the front where I can get at it very easily, and changing the combination from what it came shipped with, was also very easy. For those who want it for a handgun, it seems as though it would serve that purpose very well also, to keep it from your kids or friends, and their web site even says it is California DOJ approved which is probably not simple to get. Definitely recommended
